We?re hiring a night shift Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department Holding Unit, supporting patients in an ED holding area who require med-surg or intermediate?level care while they await admission, transfer, or next steps in their care journey. You?ll play a key role in delivering safe, coordinated care to a diverse patient population in a fast?paced ED environment.
What you?ll do
- Provide comprehensive, patient?centered nursing care based on individualized plans of care
- Assess and monitor patients? physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs while coordinating care with the interdisciplinary team
- Safely administer medications, treatments, and therapies per physician orders and nursing standards
- Educate patients and families using clear, respectful communication that supports shared decision?making
- Uphold WakeMed?s Professional Practice Model and Patient & Family Centered Care philosophy in every interaction
- A licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of North Carolina
- Comfortable caring for med-surg and/or intermediate?acuity patients, ideally in an ED or acute care setting
- A strong communicator who values teamwork, collaboration, and patient safety
- Committed to providing compassionate care that respects patient and family preferences
- Able to think critically and stay adaptable in a dynamic, high?energy environment
