Neighborcare Health is a mission driven, nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing comprehensive, high quality, and culturally responsive care to individuals and families who face barriers to access. Founded in 1969 by community advocates in Seattle, Neighborcare has grown over more than five decades into one of the largest and most integrated safety net health organizations in the Pacific Northwest. Today, Neighborcare delivers medical, dental, behavioral health, and pharmacy services through a robust network of nearly 30 community based and school based clinics across Seattle, Vashon Island, and Olympia, with annual operating revenue of approximately $100 million.
Neighborcare Health is seeking a visible, values anchored and mission focused President and Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization through its next chapter of mission impact, operational strengthening, and long term sustainability. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will guide a complex, community embedded healthcare organization while preserving the culture of trust, equity, and advocacy that defines Neighborcare Health.
Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and stewardship of a large, community anchored FQHC grounded in access, equity, and whole person care.
Serve as a trusted partner to the Board of Directors, ensuring transparent communication, strong governance practices, and thoughtful decision making.
Lead the development and execution of strategic and operational priorities, translating vision into focused, achievable organizational initiatives.
Strengthen enterprise performance across clinical quality, operations, finance, workforce engagement, and patient experience.
Oversee integrated care delivery across primary care, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, school based health, homelessness services, and women’s health.
Ensure compliance with all HRSA, FQHC, and regulatory requirements while advancing high quality, patient centered care.
Provide visible, listening oriented leadership across clinics and programs, building trust and alignment across a diverse, unionized workforce.
Serve as Neighborcare’s primary external representative with community partners, policymakers, funders, donors, and peer organizations.
Champion community engagement, advocacy, and philanthropy in support of Neighborcare’s mission and long term sustainability.
Ideal Candidate
10 or more years of senior executive leadership experience within complex, highly regulated healthcare or healthcare adjacent organizations.
Demonstrated experience leading mission driven, community based organizations through periods of operational, financial, or workforce complexity.
Strong financial and operational acumen with the ability to balance mission impact and long term sustainability.
Deep understanding of safety net care models, including FQHC operations, public funding, and regulated healthcare environments.
A collaborative, culturally competent leader who builds trust across staff, clinicians, Board members, community partners, and underserved populations.
Proven ability to lead organizational transformation, strengthen systems and accountability, and improve execution while preserving culture.
Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
