Short Description
The Critical Care Tech, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), assists with patients’ activities of daily living and supports the overall plan of care. This role involves direct communication with and support for the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others. The position requires maintaining high standards of professional ethics and contributing to the delivery of quality patient care within the organization.
Overview
The Viner ICU is a 30-bed intensive care unit. The ICU specializes in the care of adult, acutely ill patients in an academic setting. The ICU offers state of the art care with innovative technology and lifesaving interventions. The highly specialized multidisciplinary team is committed to providing expert care to the sickest of the sick in the region. Driven by quality and patient centered care the team delivers advanced critical care for patients needing; ECMO, cardiac surgery, interventional pulmonary care, and other lifesaving treatments. Over the last few years, the ICU received, "The Family Centered Care Innovation Award" and the "2022 ICU Hero’s Award" from the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM).
Experience Required
- 0-2 years’ experience required.
Education Requirements
- High School/GED required.
- Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and have an active Patient Care Technician Certification required.
License/Certification Requirements
- AHA Basic Life Support certification required
- Successful completion of one of these certifications; CPT, CPCT-A, ACMA
Special Requirements
part time nights, 24 hours a week
Hours: 7p-7:30a with weekend/holidays rotation
