Indiana University Health Medical Group is seeking a Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Physician Adviser. This position will serve as a clinical leader in documentation integrity, coding accuracy, and quality improvement. Collaborates with providers, CDI specialists, coders, and other healthcare professionals to ensure medical records accurately reflect severity of illness, risk of mortality, and resource utilization. Conducts chart reviews (concurrent and retrospective) to identify documentation gaps and provides peer education on MS-DRG, APR-DRG, HCC, and ICD-10 coding. Leads physician query processes and supports compliant documentation. Acts as liaison between providers and CDI teams. Supports quality improvement initiatives related to PSI, HAC, LOS, and mortality metrics. Ensures compliance with regulations and payer requirements. Delivers targeted education on documentation best practices and regulatory updates. Promotes physician accountability through data-driven feedback and performance reporting. Analyzes documentation trends and leads corrective actions. Champions CDI efforts across IU Health.

Qualifications:
5–7 years of relevant experience.
Medical Degree with board certification and Indiana licensure.
Inpatient clinical experience in acute care hospital settings.
Proficiency in EHR and clinical informatics.
Preferred: Experience in CDI, utilization management, or physician advising.
Preferred: Knowledge of ICD-10, MS-DRG, HCC coding systems, quality metrics (Vizient, USNWR), and healthcare finance.
