SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Provide support for the Benefit Programs, including: working directly with HR Staff and plan vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â
Process benefit enrollment/change forms for qualifying events. Includes data entry and payroll adjustment associated with processing of data.
Process form requests such as Medicare, HIPPA, and employer health coverage and provide letters of proof of insurance for employees, as requested.Â
Respond to participant inquiries regarding any of the benefit programs, in particular those that are escalated from the HR Solution Center.Â
Process vendor invoices, in a timely fashion, working with Department of Tax and Treasury and the Manager of Benefits.Â
Run and review Arears Report (PR239) and notify payroll to delete arrears as appropriate.Â
Work with the Specialist Leave Administration to identify employees approaching expiration of leave.
Provide retiree customer support; assist employees with enrollment in pre-65 retiree health coverage as requested.Â
Administer the COBRA process working with the TPA for qualifying events. Mail Separation Notifications to terminated employees.Â
Respond to daily vendor and employee inquiries regarding short term and long term disability claims.Â
Work with Life and Disability Vendor to process waiver of premium for life insurance for those on leave. Update employee status based upon approval/denial of Short Term and/or Long Term Disability.Â
Support the annual open enrollment process. This includes but is not limited to scheduling rooms, vendor invites and assisting employees at the Benefits Fairs, in the training rooms, and at educational meetings.Â
Maintain an understanding of benefit-related policies and practices and interfaces, notifying Manager of Benefits issues as needed.Â
Work directly with other members of the Benefits staff to assure timely processing, coordination, and communication of benefit related transactions.Â
Practice ongoing principles of Service Excellence through positive communication/approach and interpersonal skills with all levels of management and staff.Â
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information at all times
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma plus 1 year of related experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Strong MS Office Skills in Excel and Word required
Ability to communicate (written, verbal and non-verbal) clearly and maintain a consistent professional and positive, upbeat manner required
Demonstrated proficiency in accurate data entry required
Exceptional customer service focus required
Excellent problem solving skills required
Attentive listening skills required
Must be proactive and service minded oriented with keen attention to details; ability to anticipate needs required
Ability to prioritize and quickly re-prioritize work in an environment where needs can change with short notice required
Demonstrate RITE (respect, integrity, teamwork and excellence) in all aspects of the job
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree preferred
1 year HR experience or equivalent HR coursework preferred
Knowledge of benefits administration preferred
