Position Information:
WakeMed Physician Practices is a multi-specialty group with over 450 physicians in a variety of specialty areas. Our organization places a high value on quality, caring and compassionate physicians and we are committed to providing state-of-the-art health care to our patients and the community we serve.
Multispecialty, extremely busy Level 1 Trauma Center with 567 beds. Currently seeking Acute Care Surgeon with Fellowship in Acute Care Surgery/Critical Care. General Surgeon with Special Interest and well trained in Acute Care Surgery/Trauma will be considered. Position includes Inpatient and ED Management of General and Trauma Patients with call once every 5-6 nights. Rotation in ICU with 10 other Trauma/Critical Care Surgeons. May require some rotation to an alternate system hospital to support the start of a Surgical Critical Care program. Opportunities for elective surgeries as well.
This group includes General and Specialty Surgeons. Affiliation with University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Clinical Faculty position may be available. Because of rotating surgical residents and medical students, interests in teaching will be considered a plus. Opportunity for clinical research is also available. We are supported by a strong APP program.
The WakeMed Physician is responsible for providing quality clinical care to patients cared for by their division. The Physician may be responsible for providing teaching and supervision to residents, medical students and/or APPs within their division. The Physician is responsible for appropriate coding and corporate compliance and may be responsible for some general administrative responsibilities of the practice. Physician reports directly to the Director of their assigned division and understands and supports the mission values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices and WakeMed.
