Full Time Days
You Will Be Responsible For:
Manages the hospital’s adult, college student, and teen volunteer programs at FH Tampa, FH Connerton. This includes the development, implementation and assessment of new services and initiatives that positively impact patient and guest experience as well as staff and physician experience.
Manages volunteer recruitment strategies and onboarding/orientation of volunteers. Conducts strategic needs assessment and develops plans and strategies related to recruitment and training.
In collaboration with department leaders, oversees the placement and training of volunteers within FH Tampa, Women’s Health Pavilion, Pepin Heart Hospital, and FH Connerton (LTAC) in order to provide proper coverage of each volunteer service area.
Provides supervision of all volunteers in conjunction with hospital personnel. Conducts individual consultations with volunteers when indicated, including those of a disciplinary nature.
Effectively manages, monitors, develops and oversees paid staff in assigned departments.
Maintains on going communication and feedback with individual volunteers. Ensures teams are kept informed of hospital initiatives and developments.
Accountable for the daily operations of the Volunteer Services department and Gift Shops (Main & Women’s Pavilion) including the development of policies & procedures, achievement of metrics and support of patient experience initiatives.
Ensues assigned departments are in compliance with organizational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements (i.e. Joint Commission, OSHA, ADA, labor laws) including Standards of Excellence.
Accountable for the overall management, day to day operations, financial reconciliation, and policies related to the campus gift shops including: budgeting, retail management, buying, inventory management, merchandising, marketing, and meeting financial expectations.
Works in collaboration with Finance to coordinates fiscal and administrative controls over the gift shops.
Develops and manages the uniform program for FH Tampa and FH Connerton (LTAC).
Serves as the liaison and primary contact for gift shop vendors and uniform providers.
Prepares annual operating budget for assigned departments; on a monthly basis monitors scorecards, performance and metrics to ensure budget expectations are aligned.
Serves as liaison between Guest Services, Marketing, Business Development leadership and the Executive Foundation Director, as well as departmental directors and managers hospital-wide.
Serves as liaison between hospital administration and community partners; reports appropriate information to administration and ensure two-way communication with partners.
Represents administrative leadership at designated committee meetings, board meetings, general membership meetings, and other meetings as assigned
Performs additional duties as required or assigned.

Ability to function in demanding, stressful and fast paced environment.
Computer skills and proficiency in MSOffice, C-Bord, and inventory management applications.
Prefer to be able to communicate effectively in additional languages
Associate degree in business, HR or related field and at least five year’s related experience.
Five years’ experience volunteer management and administration, working with voluntary (unpaid) staff.
Five years of administrative, supervisory experience.
Three years’ related experience in a hospital or non-profit sector.
Five years retail management experience in a supervisory role.
Prefer a bachelor’s degree in business and/or behavioral science.

Develops, administers, directs, coordinates and evaluates the Adult and Youth Volunteer programs to ensure optimal support for the delivery of quality of care and organizational effectiveness.
