The New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System's (NMVAHCS) Ambulatory Care Service (ACS) is looking for (2) Staff Psychologists to work in the Compensation & Pension (C&P) section as part of an interdisciplinary team. The focus of this position is on the provision of psychologically directed compensation and pension evaluations to veterans enrolled at the NMVAHCS. The psychologists would report administratively and clinically to the C&P Section Lead, ACS at the NMVAHCS. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provides a full range of psychodiagnostic services including appropriate selection of assessment instruments and methods leading to sounddiagnosis. Provides services based on the results of psychodiagnostic assessment such as intervention development and treatment planning. Performs C&P evaluations for veterans with a variety of psychological disorders including substance abuse, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and personality disorders but with enhanced specialty in Behavioral Medicine. Provides administrative duties including: Scheduling of veterans and related issues, report writings, and attending organizational meetings if required.
