Job Summary:
The Constant Observer provides continuous observation of identified patients. The Constant Observer will assist with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care to the patient(s) and assist in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. Will report to the ED Director.
Qualifications:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the unit. Knowledge of growth and development over the life span. Must be able to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Formal nurse assistant course and/or one-year nurse assistant experience preferred
- CA Certified Nurse Assistant license
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
- Non-violent crisis intervention/verbal de-escalation course within 3 months of hire
