MEDVAMC Lufkin Outpatient Clinic is currently seeking a PACT Registered Nurse. Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. He/She learns from experience what typical events to expect in a given situation and how plans need to be modified in response to these events. He/She can now recognize when the expected normal picture does not materialize; decision-making is less labored.This position provides direct patient care. Provides a full range of nursing care (planning, delivery, coordinating, accountability) to patients with complex care needs utilizing the nursing process based on the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice, VHA Directives, and local policies. Duties include but are not limited to: Safely and effectively uses equipment required for patient care. Reports equipment in need of repair. Correctly performs procedures or seeks help when needed. Recognizes subtle abnormal signs and symptoms and/or changes in patients' condition and responds appropriately. Responsible for timely implementation of orders and nursing interventions. Requests and provides assistance when needed; approachable and knows when to ask for help. Demonstrates evidence of critical thinking skills in identifying, analyzing, and resolving patient care problems on the unit. Anticipates and recognizes medical/surgical/psychiatric emergencies and initiates or leads others in the initiation of appropriate and timely actions. Initiates and implements interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessments, to include a spiritual asses Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 07:30-16:00 Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
