Research Assistant (part-time)

Business: Boys Town National Research Hospital

Job Summary: Work in the Language Learning and Memory Lab as Research Assistant coding language productions by kids with and without language disorders.

Schedule: 10 hours per week (flexible hours)

Responsibilities:

• Performs or assists in the calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Performs or assists in the preparation of stimuli and development of appropriate test procedures.
• Performs or assists in the recruitment and scheduling of research subjects.
• Maintains a detailed record of test conditions and results.
• Uses computers to code children's productions during experiments.
• Helps train and supervise the activity of other full-or part-time laboratory research assistants.
• Serve as a role model for ethical behavior and promote awareness and moral principles of the Mission, Vision, & Values of Boys Town.

Required Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma and at least one year of college coursework with an emphasis in psychology, speech and hearing, computer engineering, or related field (or equivalent behavioral research training or laboratory experience)
• Requires excellent interpersonal skills, close attention to details, math aptitude, and flexibility in duties performed.
• Ability to apply knowledge of behavioral research training and/or laboratory experience.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Office Software, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
