The program associate provides support to the Center for Climate, Health and Equity across content areas, which include health adaptation, mitigation, public health workforce capacity building, health equity and environmental justice and public health infrastructure. The program associate assists with research, writing and communication activities; coordination of events, meetings, and calls; and promoting Climate Center communication and program activities. This is a one-year grant-funded position, with the possibility of continuation based on funding and performance.
Support the development of tools and resources for program use including factsheets, talking points, issue briefs, and more. Plan and coordinate events, meetings, trainings, webinars, and conference calls, including scheduling, managing logistics, arranging travel, developing meeting materials, drafting meeting summaries/minutes, and processing reimbursements and honoraria. Work with other team member within the Climate and Policy Centers and other units, as well as external partners and APHA members, to further the mission and vision of the Climate Center. Support communications activities, including developing newsletter, web and social media content. Support the grant writing process through participating in monitoring deliverables, gathering analytics for grant reports and more. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and at least 1-3 years or 2-3 years’ experience providing programmatic and/or administrative support. Interest in public health, environmental justice or climate change. Excellent writing and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time. Must be able to travel occasionally (required). Requires occasional lifting and moving up to 25 lbs.
Position is based in downtown DC near several metro stations.
Hours: 35 hours a week, full-time, Mon- Fri. (daytime). Number of openings: 1.
