In a career as a Research Scientist, you join us in improving the lives of children and families through research. In the Center for Sensory Neuroscience as an independent investigator (Staff Scientist), you will join a multi-institutional team of sensory neuroscientists at both Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a focus on development of translational approaches to deafness and vestibular disorders.
Research Scientists at Boys Town National Research Hospital are full-time researchers with no teaching or administrative responsibilities and reasonable service commitments. Staff scientists aim for 50% salary support on external grants. All scientists will have access to new, state-of-the art laboratory core facilities, generous start-up funds, and extensive support for grant management, IT and professional mentoring and oversight by senior scientists. Enhance research using state-of-the-art core facilities while interacting with a highly collaborative and focused multidisciplinary team of scientists
Reviews research and professional literature and monitor information from state and federal sources to stay current on trends in primary research areas
Provide training and supervision for technical staff and post-doctoral fellows
Successfully compete for major extramural funding for research
Successful candidate will develop a robust independently funded and highly collaborative research program
Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or related field
Post-doctoral training in auditory neuroscience
Experience in translational research is preferred
