Job Title: Research Assistant I, Hearing Development
Schedule: Part Time 20 hours per week

Under general direction of appropriate Research Project Director, performs work of considerable difficulty in various phases of research studies being performed, from initial selection of research subjects to data plotting and write-up of results.
Performs or assists in the calibration of laboratory equipment.
Performs or assists in the entry and organization of research data.
Performs or assists in the recruitment and scheduling of research subjects, including families.
Performs or assists in testing of research subjects.
Maintains a detailed record of test conditions and results.
Uses computers to analyze and plot results of experiments.
Other Duties: This job description incorporates the essential functions and duties required for this position. However, other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Experience interacting with and assessing the behavior of infants and/or children.
Mature in judgment and responsible.
Ability to communicate concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to remain flexible in duties performed.
Ability to operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Office Software, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Requires a high school diploma and at least one year of college coursework with an emphasis in psychology, speech and hearing, computer engineering, or related field (or equivalent behavioral research training or laboratory experience).
Job requires interpersonal skills, close attention to details, math aptitude, and flexibility in duties performed.
Job requires testing of infants and children with normal hearing and with hearing loss.
