Valley County Health System has an excellent career opportunityavailable for a full-time Senior Systems Administrator to join our Information Systems team. The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the following duties:
Ensures effective provisioning, installation, configuration,operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and relatedinfrastructure.
Participates in technical research and developmentto enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
Ensures that system hardware, operating systems,software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values,enabling staff, volunteers and partners.
Maintains and supports servers, workstations, backupand recovery devices and systems that support the organization's infrastructureincluding Windows and Application systems that support the clinical andfinancial operations of VCHS.
Identifiesexisting and/or future IT security violations using acquired securityknowledge, previous experience, and available technological tools. Provides administration of system access control, as required.
AssociatesDegree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six monthsto one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Previous experience in a healthcaresetting is desirable.
Previous experience working with HL7interfaces is desirable.
Knowledge of the use and support ofpersonal computers, file servers, network architecture and operating systems,and is able to demonstrate familiarity with the operations and support ofnetworked peripheral devices.
Four (4) to Six (6) years SystemsAdministration experience preferred.
Extensive experience with hardwaresupport including PC's, thin-clients, servers and network appliances.
Microsoft SQL Database experiencehelpful.
Independent problem-solving skills andself-directed work experience. Position deals with a variety of problems andsometime has to decide which answer is best.
Functions as a lead worker doing thework similar to those in the work unit; responsibility for training andinstruction.
Must have advanced knowledge andexperience with Microsoft Active Directory.
Possessextensive knowledge and experience with network topology, design, security,function and support.
Advancedknowledge and experience with network routers, gateways, firewalls, andapplication of VPN's in order to support the health systems need for safereliable vendor access/communication
Experiencewith network printers and peripherals.
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, MCSA, and MCSE certifications are desirable
