Responsibilities include performing a variety of duties in support of assigned department including coordinating clinic schedules, accurately taking and entering of messages into the electronic health record (EHR). Is also responsible for organizing and managing office operations and procedures to ensure effective and efficient daily operations and the delivery of quality and safe patient care. Training and developing assigned staff including hiring decisions, discipline, and staff evaluations. Ensures a positive interaction in each patient and family encounter.
High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business, secretarial science, or related field preferred
Minimum of seven years of experience in an administrative role in a healthcare setting
Medical terminology preferred
Prior supervisory experience preferred
High level of computer proficiency in a variety of software applications
Excellent interpersonal skills, close attention to detail, math aptitude, analytical/organizational skills
Must maintain appropriate level of confidentiality
Must have extensive knowledge and understanding of ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS Level II, Revenue Code assignments, coding systems, medical terminology, abbreviations, anatomy and physiology and diseases.
