Join the team of a nationally recognized Top 20 Critical Access Hospital! We are seeking a qualified laboratory technician (MT or MLT) for a full-time weekday position at Jefferson Community Health & Life Fairbury Clinic.
The ideal applicant would have the qualifications and skills to collect specimens and perform testing ensuring that testing is conducted in an accurate, efficient and timely manner that facilitates positive patient care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Draws blood from patients using their phlebotomy skills.
Performs all test procedures and quality control in all areas of the clinical laboratory.
Maintains laboratory accurately and neatly.
Maintains the Blood Bank according to CLIA and FDA standards.
Performs instrument maintenance and maintains the physical laboratory space in a clean orderly fashion.
Performs all aspects of the position in a compliant and safe manner, following all applicable state and federal regulations.
Participates in activities related to continuous performance improvement.
Bachelors or Associates degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
Possess an active ASCP or equal certification or be eligible to get certification.
Phlebotomy skills necessary.
Working knowledge of HIS/LIS systems, Word, Excel preferred
Flexible, able to handle multiple tasks
Works well with people
Additional Salary Information: Depends on credentials (MT or MLT) and experience.
