Assist with nursing staffing requirements within staffing standards by evaluating current and projected patient census and acuity as reported by charge nurses, developing written monthly staffing schedules and managing nursing employees' requests for leave time. Assist in PRN staffing and scheduling to cover unplanned employee absences or changes in patient census or acuity, and develop daily, weekly and monthly staffing reports for the Director of Nursing. Provide communication and information vertically and horizontally throughout organization. Participate in staff meeting to facilitate discussions and problem solving, to report school program information and to receive feedback from staff about program. Participates in Infection Control process, Peer Review Process, Performance Improvement, Medical Staff PI, Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Employee Health, staff education and training, and other functions as directed. Monitors chart completion and proper documentation by nursing staff.
