The Department of Neurology is a clinical, research and academic department within the UC Davis School of Medicine.
--Able to consent and explain research protocols in Spanish, to Spanish only speaking human subjects. --Able to complete MRI safety and MRI operator trainings at the UC Davis Imaging Research Center is required. --Knowledge of an MRI computing system with ability to off load research imaging data and implement preprocessing steps to create usable data. --Experience to safely operate research MRI machines (1.5T and 3.0T); implement established imaging protocols and scanning procedures with minimal supervision. --Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, and strong interpersonal skills. --Knowledge of HIPAA regulations. --Completion of human subjects' research training for biomedical researchers. --Experience working with senior populations. --Experience and/or knowledge working with demented populations. --Demonstrate patience with research participants and able to comfort anxious participants around MRI equipment and room. --Experience or knowledge of analysis protocols and meticulous lab analysis methods. --Demonstrated ability to track and report research data using computerized applications. --Knowledge of computer operations and storage systems, especially LINUX operating system. --Demonstrated success operating data flow between internal and external clinical and research sites. --Data management skills utilizing software tools such Excel, database creation, FTP transfer protocols, DICOM processing, and E-Film software is required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT --This position will require two work locations. The primary work location is in Sacramento, CA and the secondary work location is Davis, CA. --Fluent in Spanish.
The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator primarily assists principal investigators and research coordinators in the day-to-day execution of imaging studies within the ADC or Department of Neurology by acquiring MRI data according to established protocols. It will also participate in image processing and data analysis. This is a grant funded position.
