SUMMARY: Promotes and restores patients' health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area; directing and developing staff; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staffs; providing physical and psychological support for patients, friends, and families
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Functions as a management representative for one or more recognized units of the organization. Supervises subordinate Supervisors and/or Senior Workers and is accountable for the performance of the organizational units reporting to the Manager. Hires, fires, disciplines, promotes, demotes, transfers and appraises performance of subordinate staff – with appropriate consultation.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Experience in cardiovascular and/or pulmonary rehabilitation and/or critical cardiovascular care area.
Two or more years of hospital clinical experience as a Registered Nurse and/or Respiratory Therapist with exposure to leadership and supervisory duties.
RN: Graduate of a two year associate degree or four year baccalaureate degree program; current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or current multistate licensure in a Nurse Licensure Compact or,
RT: Graduation of a respiratory care educational program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs in collaboration with the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care or its successor or by an accrediting agency approved by State Board. Graduate must have passed the Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) examination administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care or the appropriate accrediting agency acceptable to the board.
